Donated to Castleton in 1905 this beautiful building served as a public library until 2007 and has stood empty ever since.
Weather and intruders have taken their toll but finally the library is in safe hands.
Enlightening and True Serenity have committed to breathing life into this iconic building. With the help of The Friends of Carnegie, local businesses and lots of volunteers we can see this turning into a thriving hub of holistic health in the centre of Castleton, Rochdale.
See below for how you can get involved.
There are so many ways to support this exciting development. You could volunteer time and skills or knowledge.
Many of you remember the library in its former glory, why not comment in the Carnegie Forum. Your comments will help in applications to trusts and could be included in a small heritage display in the completed building
We will soon have a donate button on this website to make it easy to contribute financially; your contributions can be used as a "match" for funding that we ask from trusts - every little helps!
