My intention with this blog originally was to provide distraction and helpful ideas for activities especially for the kids but, like many, I have been drawn into the story of this unprecidented shared experience. Through social media I have come across this article from The Guardian. It is a letter from an Italian novelist to us from the perspective of being slightly ahead of us in the timeline of the Coronavirus pandemic. It touches on some issues that I've been pondering recently but explores them way more eloquently than I can. I am particularly moved by the way she expresses how, though this is a shared experience in some ways, the quality of that experience will be very differrent depending on our socio-economic status. One thing I'd like to add is the quality of this experience will depend very much on our emotional resilience and mind-set. So I will continue to search out and post up-lifting and motivational materials.
And, now, to finish, I'll share with you our new mantra - "Stay safe, stay sane!"
